THESIS

The digital virus, All Your Base Are Belong To Us (AYBABTU), seems to take over devices in order to use the devices’ idle processing power, but for reasons unknown.

It is theorized, that there is a central control unit the is attempting to compute something that cannot be done with mere quantum-hyper-terminals, and it is therefore spreading to make use of the idle processing power of other devices.

FINDINGS

The virus becomes active in synchronised “waves” when needing to uses processing power, but seems to not affect devices that are currently used/monitored. We’ve dubbed this the “Observer Effect“, and speculate it is to avoid garnering attention.

An exception to this rule seem to apply to android constructs, where the android’s soul interferes with the virus’ directives, causing the android to slip into a coma-like state to let the virus roam free. We are unsure whether this is an intended effect or a by-product, but Androids do have significantly more processing power overall, compared to terminals.

CONCLUSION

Further investigation is required. It’s dangerous to conclude anything at the moment, but it is worrisome that if our thesis is correct, then who would benefit from this? And what could possibly require this much processing power to compute? The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything?
